I retired in 2003 from an editing/writing career that included eight years in the Random House College Division and several years in p.r. at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital in White Plains. After that I spent two years taking care of my husband, Bob, a business exec and local councilman, who died of ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) a year ago. I am now adjusting to living alone again after 30 years of marriage.
My older daughter Ashley has four kids aged four and under (!). She lives in Rockland County, 45 minutes away, and I spend as much time with her and my grandchildren as I can. My younger daughter Alexis works for the city of White Plains and is engaged to be married next year.
My other activities include volunteer work at the library and local music school, spending time with friends, reading, watching movies, singing in an early-music a cappella group, playing the recorder, and going to craft fairs, concerts, ballet, etc.
