I have defied all real estate stats, as my husband, Tom, and I have lived in the same 1840’s cape for 38 years in a small southern New Hampshire town! I was pregnant with our daughter, Heather, when we moved in on Friday the 13th of June, 1969. Year and a half later, Brad was born.
Having started out working with the American Youth Hostels in NYC, I ended up here because I married a “NH Boy” who was not enthralled with city life. So now I am a country girl. We are devoted to the out of doors – alpine and cross country skiing, hiking, biking, tennis (I’ve loved playing USTA team tennis through the years), and gardening; inside hobbies include photography, sewing, crafts like needlepoint and scrap booking and computer work. All this digital photography stuff is fun –and challenging for sure! Lots of traveling, too, in the past couple of years – hiking and skiing in Europe and New Zealand – off to India, China and the safari thing in Africa. Many ski and hiking trips out West as well.
My other occupations have included work in personnel, newspaper reporting, and public relations for Yankee Magazine, real estate sales and now we are the owners of two children’s clothing stores.
Our daughter, Heather, is married and has three children living in the San Francisco Bay area. Needless to say, I spend tons of time out there with them and our grandchildren!
Brad is married, living in Kittery, ME, and he and his wife run our Rugged Bear stores. Since I am still in charge of personnel, I spend quite a bit of my time dealing with that “people employment challenge”.
Message to classmates:
Let’s catch up with doing those things on our wish list and on re-connecting with old friends. Boy, the days sure fly by faster and faster, don’t they?
