WHERE I AM:
I live in my house of 28 years in Papillion, Nebraska (SW Omaha suburb) approximately May 1-Oct 31 each year. I migrate with the snowbirds to my gulf coast condo in Venice, Florida (southern Sarasota County) approximately Nov 1-April 30. So far, I've avoided hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, heat stroke and frostbite.
WHAT I AM DOING:
As little as possible. I struggle to learn to play golf and six-wicket croquet. It's hard to believe I thought I was athletic at GNHS! I enjoy playing bridge but am not very good at that either! I keep up with/visit my children and families, siblings and families, friends and former neighbors from various previous life situations, and try not to get into too much trouble. I still like beer but learned not to carry it in lunch bags where it is prohibited.
ABOUT MY FAMILY:
My daughter, Connor, turned 40 last Sunday. She and her husband, Rod Reuter, are attorneys in Lincoln, Nebraska (an hour away in “summer”) and the proud parents of fraternal twin daughters, 17 months old. My middle child, a son, Coby, lives in Kansas City, MO. He is divorced and childless, but spends a lot of time with Izzy. Isabella (Izzy) is my almost-five year old grand daughter, whose father is my oldest, son Cory, also in KC MO (a three-hour drive). I was one of six kids who all went to Kensington K-6 and through 12th at GNHS (younger bro finished at “South”). I am eager to see the brick I ordered that should identify the six Comer Kids.
WHAT OCCUPIES MY TIME:
I retired the end of 1996 (not 1966 as last bio showed) and have been enjoying a leisure existence for ten years. Since my long-term fiance (partner-companion) died five years ago, I have been reassessing what I really want to do with the rest of my life (like all of us, I'm sure). A couple of years ago, I began on-line dating and have made it a hobby. I recently met Larry Morgan through Match.com and he and I are a pretty good fit. He's coming with me to reunion – you can help me decide if I should start to save the cost of the dating subscription!
MY MESSAGE TO OUR CLASS:
The bonds that unite us are greater than anything that could separate us. I look forward to getting to know everyone at reunion, whether we knew each other before or not. I'll be staying at my brother's in Port Washington and would welcome contacts (Charles Comer). And Kensington folks – are we planning a reminiscence?
