At 67, I still play basketball with the undergraduates; sometimes they even let me touch the ball. In a 3 on 3 game, I am invariably older than the three players on the other team put together. My goal in life is to last until I can say the same thing about a 4 on 4. No doubt that’s an unrealistic objective, but as I first learned in Miss O’Connnor’s class, “a man’s reach should exceed his grasp or what’s a heaven for?” |
