Where am I?
Murray and I are in Miami Beach and have been for the past thirty years. We moved here in 1977 and lived in a house on an island here with our three children for twelve years. We then moved to Fisher Island and were there for eight years. We are now back on “The Beach” and happy on Collins Avenue.
What am I doing?
I retired from teaching school ten years ago. I taught English at Miami Beach High School and I must say, I loved it. Now I am involved with the art museum at Florida International University as well as a group of women who lend support to artists living in the South Beach area here. I am on the Foundation Board of Mount Sinai, the hospital which serves Miami Beach. I'm also active in two book clubs, a Bridge Club, and occasionally I play golf. We have also been traveling quite extensively this year due to the fact that we sold our summer home which was in the North Carolina mountains.
What about my family?
We have three children: Staci Kaplan, Jeffrey, and Elizabeth Garcia. Staci has three sons (the eldest just graduated from high school and will attend The University of Maryland.) Jeffrey has two children. A boy who is three and a girl who is two. Elizabeth has three children, two boys, eleven and ten, and a girl who is eight.
That's about it for now. |
